1.2.  What is the GNU General Public License?

The GNU GPL was originally written by Richard Stallman and forms the basis of how, and to an extent why, GNU/Linux has in the past, and continues to, evolve. It gives the author(s) of a specific work the protection needed/required to allow them to release the package, with source code, without the fear of losing a lot of hard work, while at the same time allowing the further development and betterment of the package involved. Your use and installation of IPCop acknowledges acceptance of the GNU GPL license and conditions.
